sam parkerThe Thriving at Three Initiative (TAT) officially began in 2005 as a direct-service endeavor. After the idea was articulated by Sam Parker, VP of Community Investment, two agencies were contacted and joined as direct-service partners of the initiative—Piedmont Health Services and Sickle Cell Agency (PHSSCA) and the Center for New North Carolinians (CNNC).

In addition, a Thriving at Three Community Collaborative was formulated to promote a strong system of care and services to families. The Collaborative is made up of agency professionals and community volunteers that are providing related services and are highly invested in the birth to three population.

Most recently, the Public Awareness and Education campaign was developed to positively promote Thriving at Three and increase public knowledge of the issues surrounding children ages birth to three in the Greater Greensboro Community. In 2008, Thriving at Three became a part of the national Born Learning campaign. Click here to read more about Born Learning.
